For most local service businesses the profile produces more enquiries than the website does. It appears above the organic results, carries a phone button and directions, and is free.
It is also the most under-completed asset most businesses own. Categories, services, products, attributes, hours, holiday hours, photos, posts and Q&A all feed relevance, and the majority of profiles fill in perhaps two thirds of them.
| Secondary categories | Every relevant one, not just the primary |
|---|---|
| Services with descriptions | Written out, not left as bare names |
| Products with prices | Where the category supports it |
| Attributes | Accessibility, payment, amenities |
| Q&A | Seeded with the questions you actually get |
| Posts | Monthly, at minimum |
This comes up most often in Local SEO & Google Business Profile. Getting into the three listings Google shows above the normal results — driven by your profile, your proximity, your reviews and your citations.
