Digital Marketing Agency in Calgary
Search, advertising, social and websites for businesses in Calgary — run by a Calgary agency that researches every market before building anything.
Calgary is our home market and where most of our clients trade. It is a city of distinct quadrants and distinct commercial strips, and a business in the northeast is often competing for a completely different customer than one in the southwest — even when they sell exactly the same thing.
That matters more than most agencies admit. A radius targeting setting drawn without knowing that people in Saddle Ridge do not routinely drive to Aspen for the same service will quietly waste a third of a budget.
We work across all four quadrants and the surrounding towns, in person where it helps and remotely where it does not.
What matters in this market
Local search is the main battleground
For most Calgary service businesses the Google map pack produces more calls than the website. Proximity, categories, reviews and how complete your profile is decide who appears in it.
Seasonality is sharp here
Trades, venues and home services see swings that a flat annual ad budget handles badly. We plan spend around the months that actually convert.
Every category is contested differently
Some Calgary categories are saturated and expensive to advertise in; others are wide open. The audit tells us which one you are in before any budget is committed.

How local search actually works in Calgary
When somebody in Calgary searches for a service, they see three distinct things stacked on one screen: paid ads at the top, then a map with three business listings beside it, then the ordinary blue links. Those three are won in three completely different ways, and most businesses only compete for one of them.
The map results — the "map pack" — are decided largely by proximity to the searcher, the completeness of your Google Business Profile, and your review volume and rating. Proximity you cannot change. The other two you control entirely, and they are free.
The blue links below are decided by the usual search factors: whether you have a page about that specific service, whether it genuinely answers the question, how fast it loads, and how many other credible sites reference you. This is where a page per service and per area earns its place.
The ads at the top are simply bought — but bought at a price set by your competitors, which is why the same campaign costs different amounts in different parts of the province.
What we would look at first for a Calgary business
- Whether your Google Business Profile lists every service you sell, with the correct categories and a service area that matches where you actually work
- Whether you have a page for each service, rather than one page listing them all
- Whether the site is genuinely usable on a phone — tappable number, readable text, forms that submit
- How many reviews you have compared with the three businesses currently above you
- Whether conversion tracking exists at all, and whether it is counting the right things
- Where your current advertising budget is going, and how much of it is reaching people who would never buy
A realistic sequence
Audit what exists, install and verify tracking, research how people in this market actually search. Nothing is launched yet, and nothing should be.
Google Business Profile completed, the pages people will land on written or repaired, then campaigns switched on against real search terms.
Cut what is not converting, expand what is, and start the slower search work that will still be producing enquiries a year from now.
More pages ranking, reviews accumulating, retargeting matured, and a cost per enquiry stable enough to plan a budget around.
Questions we get about working in Calgary
Do you have to be based in Calgary to rank there?
No, but you do need a genuine connection to the area — a service area you actually cover, and ideally a physical address somewhere in the region. Proximity influences the map results, so a business physically in Calgary has an advantage there that advertising and organic pages can offset but not fully replace.
Will you meet us in person?
Where the distance makes it practical, yes. Where it does not, everything runs perfectly well over video and email — and we would rather be honest about that than charge you for travel that adds nothing.
Is Calgary competitive?
It depends entirely on the trade. Some categories have three serious competitors and some have thirty. That is one of the first things we check, because it changes what a realistic budget looks like — and occasionally it is the reason we suggest a different channel altogether.
How long before this shows results?
Advertising produces enquiries within days. Google Business Profile work usually shows movement in six to ten weeks. Organic search pages take three to six months to matter and keep improving after that. Any agency giving you a faster answer on the last two is guessing.
Do you work with more than one business in the same category here?
Not at the same time in the same category and service area. Bidding two clients against each other raises both their costs and helps neither.
